Patrick Hamilton’s chilling Victorian psychological thriller Gaslight is the final production for 2013 for the Centenary Theatre Group (Queensland), opening on 2 November.

This classic thriller, set in Victorian London, was first produced in 1938 and later filmed twice, in Britain and in the USA. Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar for her portrayal of Bella Manningham in the latter version.

Playlovers’ upcoming production Boeing Boeing by French playwright Marc Camoletti, translated by Beverley Cross and directed by David Nelson, flies into Perth this November.

The classic farce opened in London’s West End in 1962, where it played for seven years.

Welcomed by The Daily Mail as ‘a wild, high camp comedy thriller, a play where anything can happen ­–and most of it does’, it began its Broadway run at the Helen Hayes Theatre in 1986. Fast forward to 2013 and the Therry Dramatic Society’s November production at The Arts Theatre, Adelaide.
