Boeing Boeing: Farce Flies in to Perth

Boeing Boeing: Farce Flies in to Perth

Playlovers’ upcoming production Boeing Boeing by French playwright Marc Camoletti, translated by Beverley Cross and directed by David Nelson, flies into Perth this November.

The classic farce opened in London’s West End in 1962, where it played for seven years.

Set in the swinging sixties Boeing Boeing takes flight when the suave single Bernard, played by Robert Ross, finds his life has just become very complicated due to a bout of bad weather. Bernard is simultaneously engaged to three air stewardesses, Janet played by Sandra De Witt Hemala, Judith played by Cynthia Fenton and Jaqueline played by Taylor Buoro-Long. This situation is usually fine as he is a wiz at juggling his lady loves’ schedules. As a storm moves in and the planes are grounded, turbulence of a different sort is about to strike.

One by one the women arrive back home and Bernard is thrown into a whirlwind of trouble. Bernard scrambles to keep the ladies from crossing paths assisted by is his houseguest Robert (Cameron Leese) and his no-nonsense maid Bertha (Jane Anderson).
