Rockdale Opera Company’s Gala Fundraising Concert

Rockdale Opera Company’s Gala Fundraising concert held on 8 April 2017 was an overwhelming success. It was the brainchild of José Carbó, co-patron of the Company, whose aim was to raise much needed funds for the Company. In his address to the audience at the end of the concert, Mr Carbó said that in his early years, before establishing his professional international career, he performed 5 major operatic roles with Rockdale and credits these performance opportunities as a significant factor in gaining invaluable stage and performance experience.  

I Hate Hamlet to Haunt Rockdale

I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick from May 12 to June 10, 2017.

Successful TV actor Andrew Rally has a choice to make – play the role of Hamlet onstage, which would challenge his creative experience and greatly please his girlfriend; or go back to lucrative, silly but popular TV soap operas. Andrew would much sooner take the soaps but the ghost of Hamlet’s great portrayer John Barrymore has other plans.

Farce Runs In The Family at Limelight

A FAST and frenetic farce delivering the usual mockery, embarrassment and absurdity – resulting in laughs aplenty – is Limelight Theatre’s April 2017 production.

Written by master-of-farce Ray Cooney and directed by Susan Vincent, It Runs In The Family is set in a hospital common room at Christmas time and focuses on self-important neurologist Dr Mortimore. 

Flying Into Fame

Birdie Productions has announced the two Professional cast members who will be leading their production of FAME, to be staged from 18th- 27th August 2017 at the Bryan Brown Theatre in Bankstown, NSW.

Kat Hoyos, currently starring as Layla Habib in Channel Nine’s comedy series Here Come The Habibs, will play Carmen Diaz. Kat has recently been nominated for BEST NEW TALENT in the 2017 TV Week Logie Awards, and the TV series has been nominated for BEST NEW DRAMA.
