When directors and theatre companies look for plays with audience appeal the works of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright Neil Simon invariably come into the mix. It’s therefore no surprise that Adelaide’s Galleon Theatre Group didn’t need much persuading by Director Warren McKenzie to stage Simon’s Jake’s Women as the company’s first 2015 show.

Known as Chapter 3 by some, Jake’s Women is a touching and funny story about letting go of yesterday and embracing the here and now.

A CLASSIC cult movie from the late 1950s is being brought to life as a stage production during May and June 2015.

Presented by Dark Psychic Productions at Phoenix Theatre (WA), the 1959 comedy horror film A Bucket of Blood has been adapted for the stage by Mitch Brian as The Temperamental Artist.

It follows Walter Paisley, a bus boy at a beatnik café, who dreams of being an artist. After accidentally killing his landlady’s cat, he covers it with clay and passes it off as sculpture and suddenly finds himself an overnight success.

Mary Poppins has delighted, entertained and enchanted generations of readers, movie audiences and theatregoers “in the most delightful way” with its tale of the magical nanny with her umbrella and bag of tricks.

When Melbourne’s CLOC Musical Theatre presents the Broadway musical adaptation of this magical tale in May, the show will be a real family affairor the White family.  Not only are husband and wife team Lynette and Chris co-directing the show, but Lynette is also choreographing and Chris is designing and painting the set.
