Dark Daniel Keene Love Story LOW for Victorian Theatre Company

Following their debut season (The Darkening Sky) in March, Victorian Theatre Company return to Theatre Works with brutal Daniel Keene love story - LOW - a dark Bonnie and Clyde tale set in the streets of Melbourne.

Emma and Jay are lovers, isolated and outcast from society. Money is scarce and Melbourne’s streets are dark and unforgiving. Desperate to prove themselves and change their fortunes, they take the law into their own hands, LOW travels through time and promises to grab audiences by the heart.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical has announced a return Melbourne season, with performances commencing from August 2023.

Friends! Parody Cast for National Tour

Rehearsals are underway for Friends! The Musical Parody, which starts a national Australian tour next month. Friends! The Musical Parody national tour will open in Adelaide on 4 May, followed by seasons in Hobart, Wollongong, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.

Bonnie & Clyde Cast Announced

Joshua Robson Productions today (April 6, 2022) announced the cast members who will be joining the Australian professional premiere of Bonnie & Clyde at the Hayes Theatre Co from 17 June. 

9 to 5 The Musical Announces Adelaide Season

It was announced today (April 3, 2022) that Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical will play at the Festival Theatre, Adelaide from October as part of its Australian tour, produced by John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia, Suzanne Jones and Ambassador Theatre Group Productions.

Happy Feraren Awarded 2021 Incubator Fellowship

Happy Feraren has been selected as the successful recipient of the 2021 Incubator – NSW Theatre (Emerging) Fellowship and will use the opportunity to undertake creative development of new work with support from Create NSW and Griffin Theatre Company.

Feraren will receive $30,000 through the Fellowship and use the funding to further explore the practice of improvisation in theatre making, and to create new opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse artists.

Sheridan Harbridge Awarded Musical Theatre Fellowship

Sheridan Harbridge has been awarded the 2022 Hayes - NSW Musical Theatre (Established) Fellowship, a career accelerating musical theatre initiative delivered in partnership with Create NSW and Hayes Theatre Co.

The Hayes - NSW Musical Theatre (Established) Fellowship, valued at $30,000, consisting of $25,000 in financial support from Create NSW, and in-kind support of up to $5,000 from Hayes Theatre Co, will support Ms Harbridge to write and produce new musical theatre piece The Flash Mob.

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is in Sydney to watch Opera Australia’s new grand production of The Phantom of the Opera on the harbour, but poor weather is threatening to rain on his parade.

The superstar music theatre writer celebrated his 74th birthday in the harbour city and posted on Instagram in front of the Sydney Opera House.
