MTC Digital Theatre Offers As You Like It for $10

For this weekend only, Melbourne Theatre Company’s latest MTC Digital Theatre offering, As You Like It, will be available to stream on-demand for $10. 

This special offer, in celebration of Shakespeare’s birthday, will be valid from 12pm Friday 29 April to 11.59pm Sunday 1 May.

Directed by Simon Phillips with music by Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall, the production delivers ‘a visually luscious set, earnest performances and a score of uplifting Shakespearean folk-pop’ (Time Out) to online audiences after a successful in-theatre season.

Starring Christie Whelan Browne as Rosalind and James Mackay as Orlando, As You Like It was filmed in front of a live audience with the assistance of Arts Centre Melbourne’s Digital & Broadcast team. The production was captured from different camera angles so at-home viewers feel like they are watching it from the best seats in the house.

As You Like It is available to rent on-demand on MTC Digital Theatre and viewers have 48 hours to complete their viewing once they start the video.

MTC Digital Theatre is produced by MTC’s in-house team and was launched in 2021 with productions of Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes and Berlin. The productions are recorded in 4K with 5.1 surround sound and have subtitles and audio description available.
