Dream Lover - Melbourne Cast Announced

Producer John Frost has announced the casting of the principal roles in Melbourne’s summer musical Dream Lover - The Bobby Darin Musical, which plays at Arts Centre Melbourne from December 29th for a strictly limited season. Joining David Campbell who plays Bobby Darin is Hannah Fredericksen playing Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin’s wife.  Starring alongside them will be Marina Prior, Marney McQueen, Rodney Dobson and

PARIS - Full Melbourne Cast

Music Theatre Melbourne has announced the full cast for its new concert production of Australian rock musical PARIS, which pays homage to one of Australia’s great performers, Jon English.

John Waters (Ulysses), Ben Mingay (Achilles), The Whitlams’ Tim Freedman (Agamemnon)and ‘80s rockerBrian Mannix (Sinon) head the cast that will bring this epic show, co-written by Jon English and music producer David Mackay, to life for just four performances from 13-15 July 2017 at Melbourne Recital Centre.

New Bondi Theatre Company Staging Motherhood the Musical

A new independent theatre company will stage the hit comedy Motherhood the Musical at the Bondi Pavilion Theatre from August 17 - 26, 2017.

The musical will headline the inaugural season of The Bondi Theatre Company.

Motherhood the Musical is about four women who share their insights, challenges and pleasures at a baby shower.

Great Opportunity for Australian Musical Theatre Writers and Composers

Two musical theatre writers and composers will have a career-making opportunity to present their work at the ASCAP Musical Theatre workshop which includes an expert panel led by Broadway and Disney composer Stephen Schwartz, best known for composing Wicked.

Running in early 2018, this is the first time the workshop has been held in Melbourne and the first time since 2010 it has been held in Australia since its inception 25 years ago.

BeyondKinky Concert to Support Beyond Blue

The Australian cast of Cyndi Lauper’s musical Kinky Boots will perform a charity concert at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre on Sunday 18 June to raise money for beyondblue.

Created and performed by the cast of Kinky Boots, BeyondKinky is a one-off opportunity for Sydneysiders to see this supremely talented company pay homage to the divas of pop in their own unique Kinky way.

King Kong for Broadway in 2018

Producers Global Creatures (CEO Carmen Pavlovic) and Roy Furman have  announced that King Kong, will arrive on Broadway in the fall of 2018 at the Shubert Organization’s Broadway Theatre

King Kong’s first preview, press opening, and on-sale dates will be announced in the coming months. King Kong will play the Broadway Theatre following the limited engagement of Miss Saigon which as previously announced will begin its North American tour in September 2018.

Aladdin - Brisbane and Perth Seasons Announced

Disney Theatrical Productions confirmed that its hit Broadway musical Aladdin will extend the magic carpet ride to Brisbane and Perth in 2018.

A waitlist is now open for those wishing to be first in line for tickets when they go on pre-sale in October for Brisbane and November for Perth.

New tickets for the Melbourne season go on sale to the general public tomorrow, Thursday 11 May.

Sondheim's Assassins at The Hayes

Hayes Theatre Co will present ASSASSINS by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman from September 15 2017. 

Since opening the doors in 2014, Hayes Theatre Co has been anxious to present a Stephen Sondheim musical, and we are delighted that the first musical of these will be the one considered by Sondheim himself as coming the closest to his expectations for the show. 

Dean Bryant will direct, with musical directors Lucy Bermingham and Andrew Worboys.
