NSW Playwright Takes Top Award at Noosa Playwriting Competition

The 2011 Noosa Arts Theatre National One-Act Playwriting Competition has been won by NSW writer Mark Langham for his comedy Nothing.

The 3 finalists had known they were finalists in the competition back in February. Their plays were staged for the first time at the intimate Noosa Arts Theatre, with the winner finally announced at the conclusion of the final performance.

Kevin Spacey as Richard III For Exclusive Sydney Season

The eagerly awaited, exclusive to Sydney season of The Bridge Project’s Richard III will open at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre, The Star tonight (December 1, 2011), where it plays until December 11.

2011 Tony Awards

The Book of Mormon and War Horse were the big winners at the 65th Annual Tony Awards presentation in New York today. The Book of Mormon took out nine Tonys in the Musical categories, including Best Musical, while War Horse took out awards in five Play categories, including Best Play.
