2011 Tony Awards
The Book of Mormon and War Horse were the big winners at the 65th Annual Tony Awards presentation in New York today. The Book of Mormon took out nine Tonys in the Musical categories, including Best Musical, while War Horse took out awards in five Play categories, including Best Play.
Aussie designers of the Australian musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert , Tim Chappel & Lizzy Gardiner, took out the Tony for Best Costume Design of a Musical, while the other Australian nominee, Tony Sheldon, missed out on the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical taken out by Norbert Leo Butz for his performance in Catch Me If You Can .
