CLOC Musical Theatre will present the return to Melbourne of the effervescent, effusive and very pink Legally Blonde: The Musical in October 2014.

This is the first community theatre production announced after Hal Leonard Australia recently announced the Limited Release of Legally Blonde to community theatres across Australia.

Presentations for the winners of the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria's 27th Annual Bruce Awards were held on December 14, 2013 at Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts, Ballarat.

THE 5TH ANNUAL GOLD COAST AREA THEATRE AWARDS

The Gold Coast had it’s real life “TONY” awards night on Tuesday December 10, 2013 at the Paradise Room, Arts Centre Gold Coast, with the Awards Patron, Aussie Showbiz royalty, Tony Sheldon and his partner Tony Taylor, present for the first time (a wonderful change after so many DVD messages from “Priscilla” dressing rooms in London or New York).

Once again the evening was hosted by Ian Stenlake.

The judging panel  considered a total of 675 nominations, from 64 shows.

The Victorian Drama League Awards: 2013 Winners.

The 2013 Victorian Drama League Awards, the 17th annual awards, were presented on Sunday December 8. 27 productions from 27 companies were entered this year. Best Drama Production went to The Basin Theatre Group’s The Woman in Black, which took out a total of six awards. Best Comedy Production went to Lilydale Athenaeum Theatre Company’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor, with a total of three awards.

It’s A Wonderful Life: Live Radio Play for Christmas

Phoenix Ensemble (Qld) presents an adaptation of Frank Capra’s much loved Christmas story, It’s A Wonderful Life, as its final show of 2013.

It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. Ten actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play as well as produce the sound effects.

The Phoenix production, directed by Steve Pearton, will play at the boutique Pavilion Theatre in Beenleigh over two weekends from December 6, including Sunday matinees.

Ballarat National Theatre Turns 75

The Ballarat National Theatre celebrates 75 years with a short documentary filmproduced by Wind & Sky Productions.

The film features core members of the Ballarat National Theatre, past and present, and reflects on the significance and history of the company.

Carnivorous Musical Plant Invades Manly

Will Musical Theatre’s favourite man-eating plant devour the unsuspecting populace of Sydney’s Northern Beaches during November 2013.

Manly Musical Society’s 10th production will be comedy horror rock musical Little Shop of Horrors, by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, based on the 1960 black comedy film.

Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of hapless, nerdish florist Seymour, who harbors a crush on co-worker, the ditzy blonde and ever-vulnerable Audrey.

Melodrama, Mystery and Music Hall for Adelaide Rep
