Cloudstreet on Perth Stage

THE classic Australian novel Cloudstreet by Tim Winton will open its pages onto the Old Mill Theatre stage from June 16, 2017.

Adapted by Nick Enright and Justin Monjo and directed by Brendan Ellis, it spans 20 years in the lives of the Pickles and the Lambs, two families thrown together by fortune in a large, haunted house in Cloud Street, Perth. 

The King and Son

Brisbane’s Savoyards Musical Comedy Society stages the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic The King and I, with its story of forbidden love, overcoming what is expected of you, clashing cultures, and tradition, from June 17, 2017.

The script and lavish score keep an eye on themes of change and history repeating itself. The past / present / future dynamic of the show has found its parallel in Savoyards Musical Comedy Society Inc’s 2017 production of The King and I. 

Supermarket Musical Comedy for Perth

A COLLISION of comedy and music in a dysfunctional supermarket promises to leave people laughing in the aisles at Limelight Theatre (WA) during June 2017.

Written and directed by John McPherson and James Marzec, Greenwicks is an original musical comedy exploring three different storylines in an independent grocery store.

The managerial team tries to uncover a thief who has driven store profits into the ground, causing Mr Greenwick himself to arrive and threaten the store’s closure.

Wicked Defies Box Office Gravity at Willoughby

The smash hit musical Wicked flies onto the spectacular Concourse stage in Chatswood in Sydney’s North Shore from this Saturday May 20th, 2017.

The show which has been a world-wide phenomenon continues to be a crowd puller, with Willoughby Theatre Company adding additional performances to the run, including a special preview matinee this Saturday ahead of the official opening performance to meet audience demand.

The familiar tale of the Witches of Oz is a well-loved classic featuring some of musical theatres most memorable tunes of recent time.

Engadine Musical Society is launching its 2017 Season in May with the much-loved classic, Grease.

Since its announcement last year, EMS’ Grease has generated much excitement among both the older and younger generations of the local musical theatre community.
