Puss in Thongs Panto for Perth

AN AUSSIE take on a fairytale classic plays at Perth’s Phoenix Theatre during July 2016 as Puss in Boots gets a bush makeover.

Written by Judith Prior and directed by Sheryl Gale, Puss in Thongs is a pantomime for the whole family that follows the adventures of Puss and Harry as they set out to find wealth and romance.

Before they head off, Puss orders Harry to buy her some boots and a grand hat – but they only have $5 and compromise by buying thongs instead.

Mousetrap Dances to 70s and 80s Sounds

After a sold out season last year, Shall we dance? returns to the Mousetrap Theatre stage in Redcliffe, Queensland, this time with hits of the 70’s and 80’s, in early July. Get “Footloose” and “Shake your tail feather” with Colin Rhys-Jones. He is bound to get you moving and grooving! Louise Pointing insist “I wanna dance with somebody” and “Listen to your heart” and new talents Caitlin Archer and Kodey Brims will perform popular songs by artists, such as Queen, The Police, Jackson & McCartney and more.

Away - 30th Anniversary Production for WA

A QUINTESSENTIALLY Australian story, mixing drama, humour and home truths, is the latest offering from ARENAarts as the play in question celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Written by Michael Gow and directed by Christine Ellis at the Latvian Centre Theatre, Away is the story of three different families who go on their annual Christmas holidays in late 1967, all burdened with their own baggage.

Moon Over Buffalo at Cronulla

The second production for 2016 at Arts Theatre Cronulla is Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo. Director Tom Richards has assembled a talented cast to carry off this comic play.

Combining slapstick and sexual innuendo with comic farce, the play is a madcap journey of mistaken identity, matrimonial crisis, human foibles and on-stage and backstage theatrical hilarity.

A Chorus Line at Manly

During May 2016, Manly Musical Society is staging the musical that redefined and re-invigorated modern musical theatre in the 1970s, going on to become Broadway’s longest running musical at the time.

A 10 time Tony award winning musical, A Chorus Line is inspired by the experiences of the real Broadway chorus, featuring 17 dancers - individuals with different stories, motivations, and flaws, all putting themselves on the line for 8 spots in a Broadway show.

Catch Me If You Can to Premiere at Willoughby

Based on the hit film that starred a young Leonardo DiCaprio and Hollywood veteran Tom Hanks, Catch Me If You Can – The Musical played on Broadway in 2011 and was nominated for 4 TONY Awards including Best Musical.

Sydneysiders now have the chance to witness the musical for the first time when Willoughby Theatre Company hosts the NSW Premiere of the show from May 20, 2016 at the Concourse in Chatswood.
