Beyond Desire: World Premiere Musical for Hayes

Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet and E.M Foster’s novel Maurice, the World Premiere of Beyond Desire – ‘A Modern Edwardian Musical of Murder and Mystery’ is playing at Hayes Theatre Co from Friday, 21 November - Sunday 14 December 2014.

THRILLER LIVE To Tour

THRILLER LIVE, a spectacular theatrical production now in its 6th year in London’s West End, was created to celebrate the career of Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five, is coming to Australia for a national tour including Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney from December this year.  A touring company of 45 international and Australian performers, musicians and crew will bring THRILLER LIVE to life in this Australian premiere production. 

LOVEBiTES at the Hayes: Cast Announced.

An exploration of one of life’s toughest battles, romance, LOVEBiTES will playing at Hayes Theatre Co from Wednesday, 10 September until Sunday 5 October 2014.

From the writers of The Hatpin (James Millar and Peter Rutherford), LOVEBiTES is a series of short stories about falling in love, catching one half of each couple in the instant that love strikes and then hearing from the other half about how it ended up, giving us a unique, hilarious and moving insight into the separate perspective of the two individuals who share it.

 

High Fidelity – The Musical

Within the cluttered walls of Championship Vinyl, Rob Gordon re-evaluates his past relationships as he and his pathetic colleagues attempt to navigate life guided by the music they so love. Based on the best-selling novel by Nick Hornby, High Fidelity presents a pointedly observed commentary on love, loss and the male condition.

The Australian Premiere will be presented by Pursued By Bear at Melbourne’s Chapel off Chapel from 11 – 21 September 2014.

CARRIE - THE MUSICAL FOR MELBOURNE

Ghost Light in association with Moving Light Productions will present the Melbourne premiere of CARRIE-THE MUSICAL for a three-week season at Chapel Off Chapel from September 25, 2014. 

Ralph Myers to Step Down as Belvoir Artistic Director.

Ralph Myers today (July 22, 2014) announced his intention to step down as Artistic Director of Belvoir at the end of the 2015 Season after five years at the helm.

‘I’ve loved being the Artistic Director of Belvoir,’ Myers said. 'It is without question the finest theatre company in the country, and it’s been a pleasure and a thrill to lead a team that consistently produces bold and original works.

Sydney Premiere Season for Rupert

Daniel Sparrow Productions will present the Sydney Premiere season of David Williamson’s Rupert from Tuesday 25 November 2014 at the Theatre Royal.

On Thursday 29 August 2013 the Melbourne Theatre Company presented the World Premiere of Rupert, David Williamson’s take on the media mogul. The production then had its USA premiere at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington.

Parade: Professional Production for Jason Robert Brown Musical

Out of the Box Festival to Delight Queensland Children

An army of under-eights is set to take over the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) as it comes alive for its annual Out of the Box children’s festival with14 ticketed events, 140 performances, 30 free events and more than 1000 free activities from 25 June to 2 July 2014.

Acting Arts Minister John-Paul Langbroek officially opened the 2014 Out of the Box festival, QPAC’s signature event which entertains, inspires and engages children, part of the government’s strong plan to provide the arts that Queensland families want to enjoy.
