The Joan: 2016 Subscription Season

The Joan (Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith) has announced its 2016 subscription season.

Performances range from From Bette Midler to Patsy Cline, stand-up comedy to opera and tea rituals to deep sea exploration.

Artists will include Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Noni Hazlehurst, Richard Gill, Teddy Tahu Rhodes and the Wharf Revue team.

Australian Les Mis Stars for International Stages

As Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Boublil & Schönberg's Les Misérables prepares to open at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre in Brisbane on November 10th after seasons in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, the producer has announced that three leads from the Australian production will continue their Les Mis journey on international stages at the conclusion of the Australian season.

Glen Street Theatre has announced their 2016 season of entertainment at the Belrose venue, including a diverse programme of drama, music, satire and comedy plus a series of kids shows.

Xanadu for the Hayes in 2016

New Musicals Australiain association with Hayes Theatre Co has announced the cast for The Detective’s Handbook, which will play Hayes Theatre Co from 21 April until 7 May 2016.

Innovative Australian Works Awarded Grants for 2016 Adelaide Fringe

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Adelaide Fringe Cultural Fund recipients, eight $5,000 grants have been awarded to carefully selected arts companies from around Australia.

Rolling Thunder Vietnam Returns in 2016

THE Australian concert drama Rolling Thunder Vietnam – Songs That Defined A Generation returns for an exclusive national tour in July-August 2016 to commemorate the 50thanniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.

The production toured nationally after premiering at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in Brisbane, under the musical direction of Chong Lim (John Farnham Band, Dancing With the Stars).

Jerry Hall to Reprise Mrs Robinson in Sydney in 2016

Jerry Hall will reprise her role as seductress Mrs Robinson for the very last time in the Sydney season of The Graduate. Having previously played in this iconic piece of American culture in the West End, Toronto, Broadway, North America, Perth and Melbourne, Jerry Hall will make her way to Sydney next year. The production will play a strictly limited season from December 2nd 2016 at Sydney Lyric Theatre.
