Australian Premiere for Classic Jewish Comedy

The Bondi Theatre Company will stage the Australian Premiere of the musical sketch comedy show You Don’t Have To be Jewish this October and November at two Eastern Suburbs venues.

The sketches and songs were first released as a record album in 1965, penned by a team led by Grammy Award winning broadcaster Bob Booker. Timeless sketches in the musical revue include The Reading of the Will, The Plotnik Diamond and A Call from Long Island.

GREASE: Casting of Rizzo and Marty Announced

Mackenzie Dunn, playing the role of Rizzo, and Brianna Bishop, in the role of Marty, are set to join the cast of GREASE, which opens at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne on 31 December.

Brianna Bishop  was most recently seen in the lead role of Ella in the Australian premiere season of Midnight – The Cinderella Musical as well as Amber von Tussle in the Australian tour of Hairspray.

Colleen McCullough's Tim On Stage

TIM a novel written by Australian icon Colleen McCullough and adapted for the stage by acclaimed playwright Tim McGarry, will commence a tour of eight NSW venues from 28 July 2023, prior to a future national tour.

Cast for Murder for Two at Hayes

Hayes Theatre Co today announced the two performers who comprise the cast of the upcoming musical comedy Murder for Two - musical comedians Gabbi Bolt (Sydney Comedy Festival, Spicks and Specs, Ratatouille; the TikTok Musical) and Maverick Newman (The Comedy of Errors, Chandler Bing in Friends! The Musical Parody, Maverick Newman in Conversation with Maverick Newman). Filling out the team is Sam Marques (Metamorphoses, Aspects of Love) as swing on the show.

Bernadette Robinson in DIVAS

DIVAS will open at QPAC, Brisbane on 20 July then travel to Sydney Opera House opening 3 August then to Fairfax Studio, Melbourne from 24 August 2023.
