Rocking Music Theatre Pinocchio

Rocking Music Theatre Pinocchio

Windmill Theatre returns to Sydney, following the success of multi award-winning School Dance, with a rollicking revision of the classic tale of a wooden boy with a nose for trouble. Pinocchio, a show for all the family, plays at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House from 11 April – 4 May before touring to Broadway in 2015 for a season at New Victory Theater, New York.

The much loved tale by Carlo Collodi is given a 21st century spin and retold as a witty, rocking, music theatre spectacular; a mix of classic theatre fun and a celebration of the 'whatever' generation. Rosemary Myers directs a wonderfully physical performance from Nathan O'Keefe as Pinocchio, with Jonathon Oxlade (School Dance) as Cricket and Paul Capsis as the mercurial Stromboli.

For kids brought up on Australian Idol, this fable of conscience and belonging is given a new dimension by the Windmill Theatre team, with pop/rock ballads performed by live musicians.
