Return Melbourne Season for StageArt’s In The Heights
StageArt in association with The National Theatre in St Kilda, will present a return season, for three shows only, of their successful 2015 production of the musical In The Heights as part of both StageArt’s and The National Theatre Season 2016 launching in November. StageArt’s full season launch on October 15 will include three premiere musicals and a subscription season, its biggest and boldest season yet.

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, and Pulitzer Prize nominee, In The Heights is a fun and fresh hip-hop musical set in a sizzling summer filled with music and possibilities. featuringa groundbreaking score that mixes Latin and Hip Hop cultures with powerful Break Dancing, Latin American and Hip Hop dance styles and rapping.
Featuring members of the original season including Steven Lopez (Underbelly, Fat Tony & Co, Neighbours); James Elmer (ABC 3, Studio 3 Host); Laura Marcucci (Mamma Mia); Francesca Arena (Cats, Fiddler On The Roof, Les Miserables); Anna Francesca Armenia (Dreamgirls); Peter Sette (National Hip Hop Champion); Gareth Jacobs (Dreamgirls); Clarence Marshall (Recording Artist); Bianca Bruce; and Sarah Calsina plus ensemble dancers Timothy Doherty and Joshua Martin.
It also brings back together Director, James Cutler; Music Director, Cameron Thomas; and Executive Producers, Robbie Carmellotti and Katherine Armstrong. And re-staging Yvette Lee’s choreography will be iconic Melbourne Hip Hop dancer and choreographer Phill Haddad.
