Perth Theatres Update
Large theatres will close in Perth for another week - despite the easing of the lockdown.
WA Premier Mark McGowan announced a limit of 150 people for inside venues - until the 14th of February - will come into force from 6pm Friday the 6th of at February at 6pm until February the 14th.
The restriction will force major productions to stay shut.
For smaller theatres, able to accomodate under 150 people, they are will be limited to hosting no more than one person per four square metres.
All members of the audience will be obliged to wear masks.
Stage Whispers correspondent and ITA President Kimberley Shaw said however that masks are not needed on stage.
"We believe the four square metres doesn’t include staff or performers," she said.
Major productions affected by the restructions include The Boy From Oz, currently on stage at the Crown Theatre.
Events at the Fringeworld are also expected to be disrupted.
