The Bridges of Madison County at the Hayes

Producers Matthew Henderson and Neil Gooding will present the Australian premiere of the Tony Award winning musical The Bridges of Madison County in March 2020 at Hayes Theatre Co. The musical is ased on the best-selling novel and developed by the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning creative team of Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World) and Marsha Norman (The Secret Garden, The Colour Purple).

Bonnie & Clyde for Hayes Theatre Co.

Producer Joshua Robson, who brought In the Heights and Violet to Hayes Theatre Co, presents another professional premiere with the musical Bonnie & Clyde. Telling the story of America's most notorious bank robbers and lovers, Bonnie & Clyde will play from 18 September 2020 as part of Hayes Theatre Co’s 2020 season.

BB-Arts and Two Doors Productions in association with Hayes Theatre Co will present the Australian Premiere of HEAD OVER HEELS. Playing at Hayes Theatre Co from 3 July 2020, HEAD OVER HEELS is a bold new musical comedy from the creatives behind Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q, Next To Normal and Spring Awakening.

Merrily We Roll Along at the Hayes in 2020

Luckiest Productions, in association with Hayes Theatre Co, is will present the Stephen Sondheim-George Furth musical Merrily We Roll Along. A Broadway fable about friendship, compromise and the high price of success, Merrily We Roll Along will run from 16 April 2020 at the Hayes Theatre Co.

Fans of Anthony Warlow will get another chance to enjoy his talent  this year, on the high seas.

The popular leading man is the headline act on the 2020 BRAVO Cruise of Performing Arts.

Known for his astounding performance in the title role of the Phantom in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, Anthony’s versatility has enthralled audiences since his 1981 debut with the Australian Opera, at the tender age of 19.

Cat-astrophe - Critics maul Cats Movie

The movie adaptation of Cats has been mauled by critics. The film which opens in Australia on Boxing Day was mocked on-line when the trailer was released,  giving a preview of the digital adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical.

Major media outlets in the UK and US have been scathing.Less than 20 percent of reviews are positive according to industry website Rotten Tomatoes.

The Dismissal Musical Gets Funded.

The Coalition Government in New South Wales has coughed up $70,000 to help get a musical which lauds former Labor Prime Minister Gough Whitlam to the stage.

Independent Musical Theatre Company Squabbologic is one of the big winners from the latest round of grants announced today by Arts Minister Don Harwin.

Sydney Theatre Woes

Producers in Sydney are licking their wounds, with a number of shows struggling at the box office. Despite a thunderous opening night ovation and brilliant reviews the latest adult pantomime from Trevor Ashley has had the second part of its season cancelled.

The season of The Lyin' Queen opened last month at the Sydney Opera House for one week. It was scheduled to extend at the Eternity Theatre in Darlinghurst Theatre for two weeks during December.

Preachrs Podcast OnLine & OnStage have announced their five show Adelaide Fringe 2020 season, which includes producing collaborations with UK producer Fragility London and Australian producer Big Mood.   

First up, direct from an Edinburgh Fringe season they are presenting, in association with Fragility London, UK comedian/storyteller Andrew Silverwood’s solo show Call Me Janice. Gothenburg Fringe BFF Award Winner 2017.
