Seymour Centre 2018 Program

The Seymour Centre has unveiled the line up of productions making up the 2018 program at the venue.

Ahighlight of the 2018 program is the Sydney premiere of the latest work from award-winning theatre company, Complicité. Last seen in Sydney in 2016 with The Encounter, Complicité will present A Pacifist’s Guide to the War on Cancer in March following its season in the UK.

Carriageworks 2018

Carriageworks’ program for 2018 will span contemporary art, dance, performance, music, screen, food and ideas. In 2018 the Artistic Program will support 690 artists and will present 70 projects, including 10 world premieres, 17 international works and 17 new Australian commissions. 

La Boite Seaon 2018

Queensland’s La Boite Theatre Company has unveiled its 2018 season, putting vital female voices at the heart of a season of new Australian works.

“It is no surprise that our 2018 season has a vital and strong group of female artists leading the charge,” La Boite Artistic Director and CEO Todd MacDonaldsaid.

“Throughout its 90+ year history, La Boite has been heavily influenced by formidable and talented women, from Barbara Sisley and Babette Stephens to Jennifer Blocksidge and Sue Rider.

Merrily We Roll Along for Little Triangle

After debuting with critically acclaimed sell-out production of Sunday in the Park with George, Little Triangle will present Merrily We Roll Along with emerging Australian performers in March 2018 for a limited 3-week season as part of The Depot Theatre's 2018 line-up.

Darlinghurst Nights Cast Announced

Australian musical Darlinghurst Nights takes place on the streets around Hayes Theatre Co.  Celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary, Hayes Theatre Co will present a new production from Helpmann Award-winning director Lee Lewis (The Bleeding Tree).

Senior Moments National Tour

After two Sydney seasons, the comedy revue Senior Moments is back for its first national tour from February 2018, with the John Wood and Max Gillies now joining Benita Collings and Geoff Harvey in the senior theatrical sensation.

Return Fire Productions has announced that the comedy revue will travel to theatres in Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney and Perth from February 2018

2017 CONDA Awards

THE ever-increasing strength of theatre in Newcastle and the Lower Hunter was evident at the City of Newcastle Drama Awards (CONDAs) 2017 presentation night on December 2, with 15 productions staged by 13 companies and schools winning trophies in 22 categories.

Geoffrey Rush Sues Daily Telegraph

Actor Geoffrey Rush says he is lodging defamation action against the Daily Telegraph after it printed allegations of inappropriate behaviour arising out of a complaint lodged with the Sydney Theatre Company.

"Today I have filed defamation proceedings against the Daily Telegraph in the Federal Court of Australia.  It is an action I am taking in order to redress the slurs and innuendo and hyperbole that they have created around my standing in the entertainment industry and in the greater community," Mr Rush said at a Melbourne media conference.
