2020 GLUG AWARD WINNERS

Charismatic Theatre agent Les Solomon emerged as both one of the big winners and losers of 2019 Glug Awards. Whilst a host of his clients won awards, the impresario was trapped in a lift for over an hour at the Masonic Club and had to be rescued by NSW Fire and Rescue.

Solomon entered the lift with half a dozen others at the conclusion of the awards to begin “after show” celebrations at the Masonic Club/Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, when the lift in the heritage building became jammed.

Return Sydney Season for Bran Nue Dae

Opera Australia has announced the 30th Anniversary tour of the hit Aussie musical Bran Nue Dae will return to Sydney’s Roslyn Packer Theatre in Walsh Bay in April 2020. 

After delighting audiences at Riverside Theatre in Parramatta in January, the feelgood musical will return to Sydney for a strictly limited season from 16 April until 3 May, presented in association with Roslyn Packer Theatre.

Ian Stenlake Joins The Bridges of Madison County Cast

Tributes are flowing for the theatre producer/director/actor Garry Ginivan who has passed away just months after announcing that he was moving away from family entertainment.

For over forty years he was one of Australia's leading producers children's theatre. His national tours included Puff the Magic Dragon and Winnie the Pooh!

Robert Love from the Riverside Theatre Parramatta described Garry as a "one off."

World Premiere of The Life of Us. at The Hayes

To kick off Hayes Theatre Co’s 2020 season, 100 Coffees Productions and Neil Gooding Productions will present the World Premiere of the new musical The Life of Us. Directed by Neil Gooding, this modern-day musical written by Ashleigh Taylor, composed and written by Ben Bennett and mentored by the legendary Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell), is being performed at Hayes Theatre Co from 16 January 2020.

The Bridges of Madison County at the Hayes

Bonnie & Clyde for Hayes Theatre Co.

Producer Joshua Robson, who brought In the Heights and Violet to Hayes Theatre Co, presents another professional premiere with the musical Bonnie & Clyde. Telling the story of America's most notorious bank robbers and lovers, Bonnie & Clyde will play from 18 September 2020 as part of Hayes Theatre Co’s 2020 season.

BB-Arts and Two Doors Productions in association with Hayes Theatre Co will present the Australian Premiere of HEAD OVER HEELS. Playing at Hayes Theatre Co from 3 July 2020, HEAD OVER HEELS is a bold new musical comedy from the creatives behind Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q, Next To Normal and Spring Awakening.
