Rockin Robin - James Nash High School Gympie Qld
Writer Judith Prior comments on the production.
From the moment the curtains opened, Robin really Rocked! The up tempo rendition of the opening number Horror Movie set the pace as the enthusiasm and energy of the cast exploded over the edge of the stage and swept us all into the fantasy story. The High School Rock Eisteddfod team were accidentally swept back in time to medieval Sherwood Forest where Robin and Little John welcomed them with a "Thank God you're here!" and so it began.
The huge cast handled the comedy script with ease, delivering the one-liners with great pace and flair and soon had the audience in fits of laughter.
The set was amazing, from the eerie Sorcerer's Grotto with it's fascinating cauldron and ceiling light effect to the very modern colourful Sherwood Forest.
The sustaining of character for the entire production in all concerned was commendable, facial expressions, body language, listening to the other actors and working as a team was present in every scene. I was thoroughly captivated from start to finish. My congratulations to everyone involved, back stage to front of house.
