When One Door Closes
When One Door Closes is a feel-good cabaret - written, directed, and performed by Courtney Hough - that played in Chemistry at the Girls School. A beautifully performed look at dating, the experiences of the last two years and modern life, it features Courtney’s outstanding singing and a smattering of clever comedy.
Warm, personable, and relaxed, Courtney holds the stage well and related to her audience beautifully. Looking fabulous in a white jumpsuit and sneakers (only mentioned because the outfit is truly superb), Courtney made her audience forget the heat and join her for an enjoyable hour of musical entertainment.
From the fun of “Whistle a Happy Tune”, turned into a fun parody, to the soaring rendition of “Meadowlark”, When One Door Closes is a pleasure to watch and hear.
Courtney is accompanied by Doug Wilson on keyboard.
While this season of When One Door Closes has finished, I would not be at all surprised to see this show or a sequel pop up again soon. It is absolutely worth checking out - you will not be disappointed.
