The Rodgers and Hart Song Book

The Rodgers and Hart Song Book was a beautifully presented cabaret from jazz clarinettist and pianist Adrian Galante and jazz singer Jessie Gordon. Lighting up the Ellington Jazz Club, it featured outstanding music and fun, relatable entertainment. 

Adrian is a superb player on both instruments and Jessie’s vocals are always a delight, performing a well chosen selection of the Rogers and Hart repertoire.

Backed by electric guitarist Ray Walker, drummer Bronton Ainsworth and double bassist Donny Moss Jnr, highlights included a sexy rendition of “The Lady is a Tramp”, the beauty of “Isn’t It Romantic” and “Where or When” and the fun of “Everything I’ve Got Belongs To You”.

The Monday night audience were given a treat, when another local legend, the amazing Ali Bodycoat was persuaded onto the stage to join Jessie in singing “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered”.

A fun evening of beautiful music with a side order of glamour, The Rodgers and Hart Song Book was simply lovely.
