House Party for the Apocalypse
House Party for the Apocalypse presented by girlcatboycat productions for Fringe World is a post apocalyptic play with a nice blend of comedy and the concerning, as a group of friends are holed up in a house avoiding a rapidly spreading zombie virus.
As Will’s house-warming stretches into many days, the food runs out, tempers get short and conspiracy theories abound. In the meantime television broadcasts from the local news anchor become more and more strange.
Emily Keys does a great job working solo in this show, as news reporter Astrid Astro, handling this interesting little sub-plot on her own.
Great teamwork from the rest of the team. Jack Battle has nice ownership of the space as Will, Toby Shepherd is likeable as Connor, while Henry Freeman- Dick plays gender questioning Kit with dignity and depth.
Bindi Jordan brings layers to Violet, Maia Harlap conveys Livia’s eating disorder well, while Shelby Foster brings courage to heroine Mollie.
Dialogue and its delivery feels realistic and raw, with a cast that clearly had great rapport,
A very watchable little show that told a good story well.
