The Good, The Bad and the Hardy
The youngest comedian at FringeWorld, eighteen-year-old Hardy Croucher’s show plays a “hard to sell” afternoon slot at The Laugh Resort at the Shoe, in Yagan Square. A young man from Albany, he is well presented and likeable.
Sadly under-attended at the show I watched, Hardy worked the small crowd well, in this rather surreal little set, in which Hardy examines why his girlfriend left him, spas, McDonalds drive through, birds and other comedians.
Hardy takes a swipe at reviewers - with the question “How do you review comedians? Funny? Not funny?” Honestly Hardy, I feel the same, which is why I try to avoid it, but you seem like a nice guy, and you asked me.
Hardy is funny, and as he points out – tall. His comedy sits in the University Revue style - with a dash of the existential.
If you feel like giving a young bloke some support, he plays for one more weekend. Showing lots of potential, he is a comedian to watch as his style matures, and experience expands.
