Godz
Godz takes us through the world of Ancient Greek Mythology. Audiences join Gods Hercules, Dionysus, Cupid and Apollo to party on Mount Olympus and take a trip to the Underworld in an excuse to show off some pretty amazing acrobatics.
Head First Acrobatics, one of the few interstate companies to make their way to Fringe World, presents this sexy, clever, and very funny show that steers its audience in multiple directions, whether it be admiring the bodies of these beautiful young men, crying with laughter at some wonderful silliness or gasping in wonder at their athletic prowess.
The acrobatics and skills include expert balancing, rather frightening balance on chairs, aerials and trapeze and some awesome diablo work. The teamwork and timing is second-to-none and this team works their audience with care and great rapport. There is some beautiful costuming (and lack of costuming) and the lighting is superb. The current thrust stage in the Main Hall allows everyone to be close to the action.’
The fabulous foursome are Callan Harris (Hercules), Jordan Twartz (Dionysus), Liam Dummer (Cupid) and Thomas Gorham (Apollo). As seems appropriate for Greek Gods, there is a great deal of manly touching and some nudity.
Godz is a great choice if you are looking for something a little out-of-the-ordinary in the final week of Fringe. This exciting and different show, while adult in tone, has very broad appeal.
