Everything’s Kinda Stupid
Everything’s Kinda Stupid marks the debut of the delightfully named "every other theatre company”, whose vibrant and pacy little production bursts with wonderful ideas, enthusiasm with some impressive performers and clever writing.
When Monty and Sugar’s live podcast about stupidity unexpectedly reaches epic popularity, they need to deal with the stupidity around them, testing their view of the world, their self-perception and their friendship. Gorgeously unlikely, fabulously absurd and played with absolute truth - this very funny show kept the audience engaged and loving the central characters - despite a rather uncomfortable room (dress for heat
Fabulous performances from central duo Molly Holohan as Monty and Daniela Da Costa as Sugar who bounce off each other brilliantly and whose delivery and pickups are second-to-none. Wonderfully established rapport and a very tangible long term relationship.
The supporting actors Faisal Hamza, Maxi Ford and Izzy Stonehouse play a variety of unlikely characters (whom I am loathe to reveal) as well as representing the listening public and social media horde. Wonderfully larger than life performances that hit their mark.
Molly Holohan’s set design has some great ring-of-truth detail and makes the most of the small space, and effective lighting and sound was designed was provided by Anaïs Popoff-Asotoff.
This later-in-the evening show is a great way to end a night at FringeWorld - a feel-good show that leaves you smiling.
