Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett.
Bernie Dieter, the salacious, utterly hilarious, and über-award-winning queen of Weimar punk, hosts a sizzling cabaret show with an array of acts that are virtually (and some literally) on fire. The daring and audacious tone is unabashedly set by Dieter whose humour and incredible vocal talent create a night of sheer outrageous fun. The rock band is a performance worth seeing in itself and they provide a fantastic accompaniment to the incredibly irreverent and gravity defying acts included in this show.
The show pays homage to a combination of queer icons ranging from characters in The Rocky Horror Picture Show to Marlene Dietrich. Each act is flamboyant and frequently breathtaking. The gender-bending elements are delightful and often surprising. The circus atmosphere is especially reiterated via the intimacy of the Spiegeltent. The show is irresistible and designed to deliberately provoke and arouse the audience.
The show includes a range of local and international talent and also features a collection of vibrant and ostentatious costumes. The costume design is equally matched by the colourful characters whose no holds barred humour makes great use of both unwitting and very willing audience members. This all adds up to an unforgettable evening of magnificent entertainment.
