The King and I in Partnership with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute

Opera Australia and John Frost, producers of The King and I have announced a partnership with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) that will see this lavish and opulent production deliver much needed funds to Australia's preeminent child health research institute.

WICKED Performance Raises $80,000 Plus to Support beyondblue

A cheque for almost $83,000 was presented to beyondblue at the final dress rehearsal performance of WICKED on May 4, 2014 at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre.

The hit Broadway musical is beyondblue’s official charity partner and donated the full takings of the sold out performance to help raise awareness of depression and anxiety.

beyondblue CEO Kate Carnell said the donation would go towards continuing beyondblue’s work reducing stigma and encouraging people to take action to get help for depression and anxiety.

Green Room Awards 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award to Uncle Jack Charles

On Monday 28th April 2014, at its 31st Annual Ceremony, the Green Room Awards will induct actor Uncle Jack Charles into its prestigious alumni of recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

This awardis made to a person who is distinguished by the quality, profile and longevity of their achievements and by the extent to which their contribution has been of value to a younger generation of practitioners.  The person need not have a direct affiliation with Melbourne, but their work will have had a significant impact here.

Ruthless! Sydney Premiere

New independent theatre company The Theatre Division will stage the Sydney Premiere season of RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL from 19 June to 5 July 2014 as part of The 2014 Reginald Season at The Seymour Centre.
