Riverside’s National Theatre of Parramatta 2024 Season

Riverside’s National Theatre of Parramatta (NTofP) has announced a program of premiere work for 2024, promising a “commitment to presenting inspiring work that uplifts fresh voices is at the heart of the 2024 season, with NTofP taking great pleasure in curating a vibrant lineup of exclusively culturally diverse artists, celebrating their rich contributions to Sydney’s arts scene through new Australian works, alongside acclaimed international productions.”

Audra McDonald to Tour in 2024

Audra McDonald, international singing phenomenon, Broadway superstar, television and film star, will be heading to Australia in May 2024, performing concerts in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Audra said, “I’m delighted to return to Australia, and once again perform at the iconic Sydney Opera House and the wonderful Hamer Hall in Melbourne. This trip marks my first time performing in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, and I can’t wait to get to know the Australian audiences and experience these beautiful cities next May.”

Next to Normal arrives at the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre for a strictly limited season on November 22, 2023.

Northern Territory Performing Arts Awards Finalists Announced

Talented and inspiring artists and arts workers are being recognised for the valuable contribution they make to the Northern Territory’s inspirational performing arts sector at the NT Performing Arts Awards. The NT Government’s Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities announced the 25 individual and performance finalists for the 2023 NT Performing Arts Awards, which recognise the achievements of Territorians on stage, in the classroom, and behind-the-scenes, and celebrate those who make a creative difference to our community.

Performing Arts WA 2023 Awards Ceremony

The 2023 Performing Arts WA Awards Ceremony, held on Monday 30 October in the Heath Ledger Theatre, celebrated achievement in Western Australian professional live performance in 2022, covering both mainstage and independent performances.

Independent dance show Petrushka (Game, Set, Match) by Scott Elstermann was the biggest winner for the night, taking home five of the six awards for which it was nominated, including Outstanding New Work, Outstanding Choreography and Best Independent Production.

RENT Cast Announced

The cast has been announced today for the new Australian tour of the multi-Tony Award winning rock musical by Jonathan Larson, RENT.

RENT will play at the Playhouse, QPAC, Brisbane from 27 January 2024, then State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne from 17 February, Newcastle’s Civic Theatre from 15 March, His Majesty’s Theatre, Perth from 11 May, and Canberra Theatre from 6 June. Head to rentmusical.au for tickets.
