Ned Kelly Musical for Adelaide Fringe

Adelaide’s Upstage Theatre brings the story of Australia’s most infamous bushranger Ned Kelly to life in its 2016 Adelaide Fringe show The Legend of Ned Kelly. It’s a musical that focuses on a period steeped in folklore, the Kelly Gang’s last days. Lesley Reed reports.

Au Revoir Les Mis

Cameron Mackintosh’snew production of Boublil & Schönberg's legendary musical, Les Misérables, which premiered in Melbourne on June 22nd 2014 and is preparing for its final bow this coming Sunday 17th January in Brisbane. The award-winning Australian production has celebrated a 19 month run with seasons in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane and will close after 588 performances.

Chase The Feeling

Forming a volume of a Masters in Anthropology of Theatre, Michael Allen Productions’ World Premiere, Chase The Feeling is an intriguingly different Adelaide Fringe production. Lesley Reed reports.

Based on real anthropological fieldwork about a group of autistic actors, Chase The Feeling is an experiment in combining academic research with theatre. This fast-paced satirical assassination of theatre and autism is to be presented at the 2016 Adelaide Fringe by Michael Allen Productions.

2015 Glugs Theatre Awards Nominations

The Glugs have announced the nominees of the 2015 Glugs Theatre Awards, to be presented Monday 1 February 2016 at Sydney’s Castlereagh Boutique Hotel.

This year marks the Glugs’ 50th anniversary since their first meeting. In 1966 a group of theatre lovers – critics, journalists, actors and theatre-goers – met weekly for lunch to discuss theatre and welcome international touring actors. Founding members included theatre critic Norman Kessell, Bill Fenn, JCW’s PR man John Love, and ABC producer Allan Kendall.
