Muriel’s Wedding For Melbourne In March 2019

Carmen Pavlovic, Global Creatures CEO has announced that Muriel’s Wedding The Musical will play a strictly limited season in Melbourne at Her Majesty’s Theatre from March 2019 before returning to Sydney in July 2019 playing at the Sydney Lyric Theatre. 

Queensland Theatre Season 2019

Queensland Theatre will present five world premieres in 2019. It begins with the world premiere of Hydra, award-winning playwright Sue Smith’s portrait of writers Charmian Clift and George Johnston. This is followed by the world premiere of City of Gold by young actor Meyne Wyatt.

Sydney Premiere of Margaret Fulton: Queen of The Dessert

Australian icon Margaret Fulton will be honoured in her hometown of Sydney with the staging of the musical comedy Margaret Fulton: Queen of the Dessert at the Bondi Pavilion Theatre from October 12 – 27.

Margaret Fulton is famous for selling 1.5 million cook books and teaching Australians how to cook. Not so well known is her bohemian life in The Rocks, escapes from ‘decorative, elegant and useless men’ and struggles as a single mother.

Led by 10 Maestro concerts, a spotlight on Australian composers and showcasing concertos for harp, clarinet, trombone and double bass among others, Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Season 2019 is one to cement its reputation as an orchestra for everyone.

2018 OzAsia Festival

Five world premieres, 20 Australian premieres and 22 events exclusive to South Australia will be part of the 2018 OzAsia Festival.

Running from 25 October to 11 November, Adelaide Festival Centre’s 12th annual OzAsia Festival will feature work from 817 artists with 20 countries represented. 

This year’s festival will showcase 439 activities, including more than 250 scheduled performances, 55 talk events, 34 film screenings, eight exhibitions and 66 workshops. Approximately 200,000 people are expected to attend over the 18 days.

Opera Australia Season 2019

Opera Australia has commissioned a new Australian work on the life of iconic Australian artist, Brett Whiteley. 

Simply titled Whiteley, the production will be directed by David Freeman, music composed by Elena Kats-Chernin, libretto by Justin Fleming, and what is expected to be a spectacular set design featuring Whiteley’s celebrated artworks by Dan Potra, known for his outdoor designs at Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour and The Eighth Wonder, Sydney Opera House The Opera.

Our New Boy from Oz

Rohan Browne is only the third man to play the coveted role of Peter Allen in a professional production of The Boy from Oz. Rohan is well qualified to step into the shoes of Todd McKenney and Hugh Jackman for The Production Company’s 20thanniversary season, as he has a special connection to the musical.
