Debra Byrne, an Australian icon with more than thirty years in the spotlight, is a true example of survival. Debra Byrne is now RIPE and ready to take to the Sydney concert stage after an absence of over twenty years.

RIPE will showcase the most memorable moments from Debra’s career in the theatre, whilst embracing songs from all over the globe.

KEVIN SPACEY FOUNDATION LAUNCHES RICHARD’S RAMPAGE

Richard’s Rampage is a bespoke creative learning project that will follow Kevin Spacey around the world as he takes on the title role of Richard III. It is a project that has the exchange of ideas, talent and creativity at the heart of the process. It will enable over 1,000 students and 200 emerging actors from nine countries and across three continents to connect with one another, experience extraordinary workshops, see a world-class theatre production.

Scarlett Strallen Flies In As Mary Poppins

West End star, Scarlett Strallen, who has played Mary Poppins in the musical’s London and New York productions, has flown into Sydney to join the Mary Poppins company.

She will take over the role of Mary Poppins from Verity Hunt-Ballard for eight weeks – from Wednesday, October 5 to Sunday November 27 – allowing Verity to take a break before she begins the Brisbane season of Mary Poppins.

Glen Street Theatre Season 2012

Glen Street Theatre at Belrose on Sydney’s North Shore has announced its 2012 season of drama, music, comedy and contemporary dance.

To mark the occasion of Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday, the 2012 season begins with the return of Miriam Margolyes in Dickens’ Women. Also returning is Bangarra Dance Theatre with of earth & sky plus the satirical comedy of The Wharf Revue.

Sydney, Perth and Brisbane seasons have now been announced for the new Australian production of A Chorus Line, which has already played successful Adelaide and Melbourne seasons. 

Limited seasons have been announced for Sydney's Capitol Theatre, for 21 performances from July 20, 2012, for 20 performances at Perth's Burswood Theatre, from October 20 and for 21 performances at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC from November 16.
