HAMILTON First Sydney Performance.

HAMILTON will have its first public performance tonight (March 17, 2021) at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney as the company prepares for the official premiere on March 27.

Ahead of tonight's performance Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres and Minister for the Public Service and Employee Relations, Aboriginal Affairs and the Arts Don Harwin joined the US Producer of Hamilton Jeffrey Seller to mark the occasion.

MTC 2021 — Act 2 Program Announced

Act 2 of Melbourne Theatre Company’s year in two parts has been revealed, featuring six new productions that complete MTC’s 2021 program.

In making the announcement, MTC Artistic Director & CEO Brett Sheehy said, ‘It’s a great pleasure to be launching Act 2. We are especially pleased to be presenting the world premieres of three brand new Australian plays, putting home-grown work front and centre in a year when supporting our industry matters most.

Adelaide Festival Hit - A German Life - to tour Australia

Producer John Frost has announced an Australian tour of the powerful hit of this year’s Adelaide Festival. A German Life is an extraordinary theatrical tour-de-force from three titans of the theatre –Robyn Nevin in an astonishing play by Christopher Hampton, directed by Neil Armfield.

In the Australian Premiere of this highly demanding 90-minute solo triumph, Robyn Nevin plays Brunhilde Pomsel, an unassuming woman with good shorthand skills who, almost by chance, came to work in Joseph Goebbels’s Propaganda Ministry.

Nancye Hayes Goes Hip Hop

At the age of 78, stage legend Nancye Hayes is not shy of learning new dance steps. The dancer/singer extraordinaire is learning the art of hip hop, as the lead in the Australian premiere of the Half Time, at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre, named in her honour. David Spicer reports.

Nancye Hayes proves that you can teach an older hoofer a new trick. At the early stages of learning the role of kindergarten teacher Dorothy in the musical Half Time, she has commenced classes in hip hop.

Adelaide Festival 2021 Opens

The 2021 Adelaide Festival officially opened on today February 26, having already hit its box office target! With 70 events, including 10 world premieres, 14 Australian premieres and 18 events exclusive to Adelaide over 17 days, 2021 marks the 61st Adelaide Festival and the fifth under Artistic Directors Neil Armfield and Rachel Healy.

Tim Minchin, Bob Downe and Willsy for Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2021

Tim MinchinBob Downe and Anne “Willsy” Wills are among performers starring in two new headline shows, announced today as part of Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2021.

Tim Minchin, will return to Adelaide Cabaret Festival with the encore of his award-winning show BACK – performing on the festival’s opening weekend, on Saturday June 12 and Sunday June 13 at Festival Theatre. Adelaide will be the first stop of the show’s national tour.

The Wedding Singer Cast Announced

The stars of the Australian professional premiere of The Wedding Singer have been announced. More performers and creatives are set to be announced for the Broadway musical, touring the country from 9 April.

Overflowing with ‘80s nostalgia, this rom-com will see Kinky Boots’ star Teagan Wouters pull up her leg warmers and tweak her side-pony, ready to belt out the role Drew Barrymore made famous.
