35th Annual Green Room Awards - Winners

Hosted by MCs Anni Davey and Maude Davey and featuring an array of performances from YUMMY, the Victorian Opera Youth Chorus Ensemble, and the Chasing Smoke ensemble from BLAKflip (the First Nations program at Circus Oz) this years' Green Room Awards once again offered the Melbourne arts loving community a forum to celebrate their peers, and applaud the outstanding work being created.

The awards ceremony took place at the Comedy Theatre on Monday April 9, 2018.

Qpening at the Comedy Theatre, on Saturday 20 July 2019, the production will benefit from a major refurbishment to the 90-year-old heritage listed venue including new chairs and improved patron amenities

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for Sydney

It has been announced that theatre producers John Frost, Craig Donnell, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions will be bringing the new musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Sydney’s Capitol Theatre in January 2019.

Vale Peter Stannard

Australian composer Peter Stannard has died at the age of 86, just months before the musical he penned sixty years ago -  Lola Montez - is due for a professional concert revival.

Peter Stannard was born in Sydney in 1931. He began piano studies at the age of 12, but lessons were curtailed six months later due to evacuation from Sydney during World War II.
