Paulini Meets the Young Sydney Cast of Joseph
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s reimagined production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opens at the Capitol Theatre on 11 February (Opening Night Thursday 16 Feb).
In the first week of rehearsals Paulini, who plays the Narrator met the 32 Sydney children who will appear alongside Euan Fistrovic Doidge as Joseph, and Trevor Ashley in the role of Pharaoh.
Only 8 children appear on stage each show but due to NSW Child Employment regulations there needs to be four groups of children. The children, aged 8 to 13 years auditioned in front of the international creative team including Associate Director, Nikki Woollaston, Choreographer, JoAnn M Hunter (School of Rock) and Music Supervisor, John Rigby (School of Rock).
This reimagined production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat enjoyed two sell out seasons at the London Palladium, and has just played a successful Melbourne season, and boasts pop and musical theatre classics, including “Any Dream Will Do”, “Close Every Door to Me”, and “Go Go Go Joseph”.
