New Theatre is Turning 80: Season 2012 Announced

Sydney’s New Theatre launched their new brand, developed in collaboration with Principal Partner, Interbrand, on January 17,  along with the productions that will make up their 80^thAnniversary year season.

Season 2012 includes three Australian premieres and the World premieres of two new Australian works both by emerging female playwrights, together with a selection of modern classics from Ireland, England and Australia.  

Renato Fabretti and Mackenzie Steele, both graduates from the 2011 NIDA Directors Course, each take charge of a mainstream production, and they will be joined by four of New’s most experienced directors: Louise Fischer, Kevin Jackson, Alice Livingstone and Rosane McNamara.

The Spare Room, New’s season of co-productions with independent companies, will continue for a second year, following on from the success of the inaugural season in 2011, features projects by three independent companies: Chester Productions, Us-A-Um and pantsguys Productions.
