Ghost Lights Kicks Off NIDA Digital Theatre Festival

An ambitious reimagining of the storytelling landscape, NIDA’s Digital Theatre Festival kicks off with a call for audience participation. For Ghost Lights, audiences worldwide are invited to perform, record, and upload a monologue to social media to keep the spirit of theatre alive. The best monologues will be showcased every week.

Frankston Arts Centre is working with some of Australia’s most well-known performers in its latest initiative to support the arts industry through COVID-19.

The Raise the Curtain musical production will take place on stage at the arts centre on Thursday July 30 and be live streamed to audiences via the venue’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel.

On Sunday July 26th, Riverside Theatres Digital is thrilled to launch its second digital concert series with award winning performer Todd McKenney.  An Evening with Todd McKenney will stream to audiences’ homes in a one-show only live performance direct from the Riverside Theatres stage in Parramatta.

A Group Where We All Pretend To Be Rehearsing For The Same Performance.

Almost twenty thousand frustrated thespians have joined a facebook group where they have been pretending to be rehearsing for the same performance.

The social media page was set up by actor Jack Mcgirr as “a space to be entertaining and a laugh for fellow actors dealing with covid-19.”

The huge numbers have proved a handful to administer with Mcgirr deleting posts containing swearing, politics and links to promotions.
