Perth Premiere Attracts Ad Ban

Advertising for the Perth Theatre Company’s Australian Premiere of Tender Napalm by British playwright and provocateur, Philip Ridley (The Pitchfork Disney, Mercury Fur) has proved a bit too provovative.

Banned from billboards in Mt Lawley and Osborne Park as too explicit, the publicity image of a waist up naked couple in an embrace (see image) was banned by the Public Transport Authority, believing it breaches the Australian Association of National Advertisers’ code of ethics.

How to Train Your Dragon Arena Spectacular to Premiere in Australia

In Melbourne this morning (March 7, 2012) Lucy Graham joined the media pack at Hisense Arena to meet the stars, ahead of the World Premiere of How to Train Your Dragon-Arena Spectacular.

After three months of rehearsals, Director Nigel Jamieson is ‘not getting too much sleep’, saying while the show is completely safe, there are so many interconnected computer cues, that the slightest glitch has the potential to bring the show undone.

Awful Theatre for Brisbane

Wicked Closes in Australia on September 11

Spicks and Speck- tacular – The Finale

Adam Hills, Alan Brough and Myf Warhurst will hit the road from November 15 with a national live tour to celebrate seven years of Spicks and Specks.

Back in 2007 Adam, Alan and Myf promised Australia that they would tour the greatest ever stage show loosely based on a music trivia show. The Spicks and Speck-tacular was born, and played to more than 200,000 fans....
