Now in its’ fifth year, the Rob Guest Endowment is an established and highly anticipated annual opportunity to showcase some of Australia’s finest upcoming young  talent which culminates in a night of stellar performances at the Rob Guest Endowment Gala Concert.

The Gala Concert will be held in Sydney for the first time in 2013.

Eddie Perfect and Christie Whelan Browne to Host Helpmann Awards

Live Performance Australia (LPA) has announced that Eddie Perfect and star Christie Whelan Browne will host the 13th Annual Helpmann Awards® presented live in Sydney at SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE on Monday 29th July. Currently performing together in Shane Warne the Musical, Eddie and Christie are truly fitting ambassadors for Australia’s Live Performance industry.

Contagion’s Kiss: Lepers' Story Inspires Play

Northern Territory physical theatre company Business Unusual draws on stories from Darwin’s history to create its theatre. Its latest work Contagion’s Kiss is inspired by stories from Darwin’s Channel Island Leprosarium. Nicola Fearn, the co-founder of the company, is also the co-director and co-writer of the work. She spoke to Neil Litchfield from Bordertown, on her road-trip from Melbourne to Darwin, in a fully laden car, complete with dog and a pair of crutches strapped to the roof-rack.

2013 Tony Awards

Kinky Boots, with a score by Cindy Lauper, was the big winner at the 2013 Tony Awards Ceremony, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, were presented at Radio City Music Hall, New York, on June 9, taking out six awards including Best Musical.

Matilda The Musical, with it's score by Tim Minchin, and Best Musical Revival Pippin scored four awards each.

Early on Monday morning, as bleary-eyed office workers were beginning the working week, the long-awaited King Kong was revealed at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne.
