The Search for Annie and the Orphans Begins

The search for the young girls who will play Annie and her orphan friends in the ever-popular Broadway musical Annie begins today. Audition notices have been posted by producer John Frost for Crossroads Live and director Karen Johnson Mortimer looking for multiple casts of Annie, Duffy, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, Molly and Friday.

A Toast to Tim Draxl

Tim Draxl’s mother, during a low point in his life, reminded him that he was given a gift, and he needed to continue to use it (pictured below). That gift as a major Australian and international actor/singer/film star/entertainer has been on display for almost thirty years. 

Sister Act Announces Perth and Adelaide Seasons

Praise be! Adelaide, Australia’s city of churches, has been anointed as the next city to be blessed with the Sister Act musical. Direct from Heaven via London’s West End, Sister Act will star Casey Donovan, Genevieve Lemon and Rhonda Burchmore and will debut in Adelaide from March 2025, with a Perth season to follow in April 2025.

Australia’s Evan Hansen Announced

Rising star Beau Woodbridge has been announced as the lead in the upcoming Australian tour of Sydney Theatre Company and Michael Cassel Group’s brand-new production of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, premiering at STC’s Roslyn Packer Theatre from 12 October. 

TITANIQUE Cast Announced

Producers Michael Cassel and Eva Price have confirmed the ‘kooky krazy’ cast who will set sail aboard the award-winning splash hit TITANIQUE when it makes its Australian premiere exclusively in Sydney at The Grand Electric from 12 September 2024.

Jordan Shea Winner of Queensland Premier’s Drama Award 2025

From over 200 entries for the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award 2025, and three finalists announced earlier this year, playwright Jordan Shea has been announced as the winner for his tender dramedy that pits love against obligation, Malacañang Made Us.

Shea’s work was selected as winner of this year’s Award alongside fellow finalists David Burton for the good dad, and Steve Rodgers for his work, The Future is History.
