Twisted Broadway 2015

Gender-bending musical theatre blockbuster Twisted Broadway returns to Melbourne for one-night-only at Arts Centre Melbourne, State Theatre on Monday 17 August, 2015.

The annual charity concert features internationally-acclaimed music theatre talent singing songs originally penned for the opposite gender in a one-off night of show-stopping, gender-bending entertainment.

Having raised over $80,000 for those living with and touched by HIV/AIDS, in 2015 the evening’s hosts Kate Ceberano and Eddie Perfect will lead the gauntlet towards $100,000 mark.

Dame Julie Andrews to Direct 60th Anniversary My Fair Lady in Sydney

Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini AM and leading theatre producer John Frost AM will present a brand new production of Lerner and Loewe’s masterpiece My Fair Lady at the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House in 2016, celebrating the iconic musical’s 60th anniversary. My Fair Lady will be directed by world-renowned actor and director Dame Julie Andrews with choreography by Tony Award-winning Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, The King and I, South Pacific).

Singin’ in the Rain Cast Announced

The full Australian cast of the 'splash-hit' West End stage production Singin’ in the Rain has been announced. The production will open May 2016 at Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre, followed by a season from July at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre before touring to Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

2015 HELPMANN AWARDS

The 2015 Helpmann Awards were presented at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre on Monday 27 July, on the set of Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new production of Les Misérables, in a ceremony hosted by Todd McKenney.

Les Misérables, The Perth International Festival, and the Brisbane Baroque Festival were the big winners of the 2015 Helpmann Awards.

The feel-good, multi award-winning musical Kinky Boots will make its Australian premiere at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne from October 2016.

Kinky Boots features a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.
