Australia is mourning the late great Bert Newton (23 July 1938 – 30 October 2021) and those who shared the stage with him are sharing their tributes and dedications.

2022 Adelaide Festival Program

The 37th Adelaide Festival program will run over 17 days from Friday 4 to Sunday 20 March, 2022. The program offers a total of 71 events in theatre, music, opera, dance, media and visual arts, including uniquely local programs Adelaide Writers’ Week, UKARIA Chamber Landscapes and WOMADelaide.

The Festival will feature 9 World premieres, 6 Australian premieres and 17 shows playing exclusively in Adelaide.

Moulin Rouge Performances Commence November 12 at Melbourne Regent

Moulin Rouge! The Musical had its Australian premiere performance on Friday 12 November, 2021 as Baz Luhrmann’s film came to life onstage, remixed in a new musical mash-up extravaganza.

Melbourne’s Regent Theatre has been transformed into the famed French nightclub and is set to transport audiences to 19th century Paris, complete with the iconic red windmill and towering blue elephant.

David Campbell to Star in North by Northwest

Following seasons in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane the U.K. and Toronto, the stage adaption of Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest will play an exclusive limited season at Sydney Lyric Theatre from March 9 2022.

Sydney Theatre Company Act 1 Season 2022 Announced

Sydney Theatre Company Artistic Director Kip Williams has announced Act 1, six shows to kick off STC’s 2022 season that he says will “celebrate the joy, revelation and connection only theatre can offer” as the industry returns to the stage.
