We Will Rock You Will Rock Chatswood

We Will Rock You, opens at Zenith Theatre in Chatswood on Friday 18th October 2024. We Will Rock You is a popular musical worldwide with more than 16 million people globally witnessing the epic extravaganza. The North Shore Theatre Company (NSTC) production is on for a limited season of 8 performances, closing on Saturday 26th October.

The musical takes place in a future age on a planet once called Earth that is now controlled by a mighty corporation… rock music is unheard of and all musical instruments are banned. The hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance - an alliance of rebel Bohemians.

This story brings rock as we know it to the stage, with icons from history being honoured for their role in our musical culture. With rock singers, killers, thrillers and Bismillah’s … What more could we want in a musical?

We Will Rock You, which is based on songs by Queen, with a book written and adapted by Ben Elton (The Young Ones, Blackadder, Popcorn). Elton fashioned this futurist comedy around more than 24 of Queen’s biggest hit songs including “We Are The Champions”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “I Want To Break Free”, “Somebody To Love”, “Killer Queen”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Under Pressure”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites The Dust” and of course, “We Will Rock You”.

This production sees Jay Mancuso take on the lead role of Galileo Figaro and pay homage to Freddie Mercury. Jordan Berry is brings Killer Queen to the stage with dynamite vocals.  Also starring in We Will Rock You are Roxy Sofia as Scaramouche, Chloe Horne as Oz, Lachlan Ceravolo as Brit, Alex Kirk as Commander Khashoggi and Luke Brattoni as Buddy.

The NSTC We Will Rock You production is directed by Sarah Webster, choreographed by Rachel Levitt and Musically Directed by Andrea van den Bol, with lighting and set design by Latarka.
