Rockdale’s Leap of Faith

From the team behind Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors and Tangled, comes a musical antidote for the cynicism of our times! Fill your heart and be swept along by Rockdale Musical Society’s premiere production of LEAP OF FAITH – at Rockdale Town Hall from 9-18 September, 2016.

Love will get you every time… and one charismatic con-man is about to find that out the hard way. The “Reverend” Jonas Nightingale, an electrifying performer and con-artist, is travelling with his ministry when his bus breaks down in a small Kansas town. The part-time reverend and full-time crook pitches a tent and invites the locals to a revival. The sheriff, a woman named Marla McGowan, is determined to stop Jonas from separating the townspeople from their money, and Jonas' real challenge arises when he meets the sheriff and her son, whose love forces an ultimate cynic to take a real ‘Leap of Faith’.

Leap Of Faith features a score by eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty and the Beast and Little Shop of Horrors). The creative team includes book writers Janus Cercone and Tony-winner Warren Leight (Side Man) and Grammy-winning lyricist Glenn Slater (Tangled).

Based on the film of the same name, Rockdale Musical Society follows up its recent hits Reefer Madness and Calamity Jane when proudly it presents its premiere performance of this uplifting musical comedy.

Directed by Elle Zattera, with musical direction from Josh Ransom and choreography by Craig Nhobbs, Leap Of Faith features Daniel O'Connell & Jessica James-Moody (pictured top), Tanya Boyle, April Neho, Sally Redman, Louis Vinciguerra and Jordan Fuller, plus an angelic ensemble comprising Kirsty Bunch-Bozonie, Anthony Halpin, Jasmine Hutchinson, Lauren Lofberg, Nathan Maynard, Steve McLeod, Haji Myrteza, Joseph Nalty, Tracey Rasmussen, Nicole Shiels, Keely Soulsby, Aisha Amesbury, Natasha Bartoshefski, Alyssa Bishara, Tiana Bishara, Michelle Bridekirk, Elizabeth Carter, Sian Fuller, Amy Hummerson, Nikki Newman, Jayna Patel, Stephen Prochowski, Annabelle Radford, Elissa Sherley, Cara Shiels and Emma Walker.
