New Locally Written Play at Guild Theatre, Rockdale
Where there’s a will ... There’s a family!
‘Family is what matters, isn’t it?’
The Guild Theatre has always tried to bring audiences variety in their seasons in respect to subject matter and story lines which will provoke different thoughts and emotions, and most importantly will surprise and entertain.
With their mother recently passed away, middle-aged siblings Brian, Russell and Linda have to navigate her passing, along with their own personal issues. Brian has pressing financial problems, Russell and his wife are struggling with fertility, and Linda has to forge a new life after being a long-term carer. Mum’s house is a prime piece of real estate, and its sale would solve everyone’s problems - or would it? Can these three siblings find their way back to each other without the unifying force of their mother?
Beyond Caring is an Australian play written by local playwrights Scott Brawley and Robert Stewart. The play is funny and heartwarming and explores the quirky nature of Australian family life.
Beyond Caring is bringing laughter, tears and Iced Vovos to the Guild Theatre from 16 August - 8 September 2024.
