New Brisbane Company Has Murder in Mind.
Sharmony Productions has been created by two long standing Brisbane actresses, Sharon White and Sandra Harman, in order to produce quality theatre productions focusing small cast plays which showcase the talents of more seasoned performers, as well as up and coming actors.
Sandra Harman has since worked as Actor and Director for many companies in and around Brisbane. She was Producer and Actor for The Edge Theatre Company with Ron Kelly, and has worked extensively with Theatre-in-Education at Child Care Centres and Primary Schools, and has toured the UK, Netherlands and Australia as Sybil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, The Dining Experience.
The inaugural production for this fledgling company will be the exceptional The Business of Murder, penned by a master of the genre, Richard Harris, which enjoyed a successful eight year run on the West End. Harris is responsible for many episodes of A Touch of Frost, The Avengers and the The Sweeney among others, and the award winning play and film Stepping Out.
The Business of Murder centres around the interlocking relationship between three characters – Dee Redmond, the successful TV Playwright, Detective Superintendant Hallet, and the mysterious Mr. Stone. What ensues is a deadly game of Cat and Mouse where twists and turns abound, and the final outcome is a shocking surprise.
Brisbane venue, Studio Theatre and Cafe located at Morningside, has partnered with Sharmony Productions in providing a quality intimate theatre space for performances.
