Jersey Boys at CLOC Musical Theatre in May
Four men...four stories...four seasons…forty years…fifteen top ten songs…five number 1 chart toppers……and a dramatic tale that would be unbelievable if it were not true.
In May 2022, Melbourne’s CLOC Musical Theatre is presenting Jersey Boys, the true-life story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey became Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons - one of the most successful bands in pop music history. They wrote their own songs, sold 175 million records worldwide, and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for their countless worldwide hits, including “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Sherry”, “Walk Like A Man”, “Oh What A Night”, “Bye Bye Baby”, “Rag Doll”, “My Eyes Adored You”, “Who Loves You”and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”.
Pictured are lead performers Will Hanley (who plays Frankie Valli) and Melanie Ott (who plays Frankie's first wife Mary Delgado). Although close friends and fellow performers over the last 15 years, this is only the second time that Will and Melanie have appeared together onstage, after first co-starring in A Chorus Line in 2019, for which Will won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria. This time they get to do it all - flirt, date, marry, fight and finally angrily divorce - all onstage, of course, while remaining the best of friends offstage.
After a long delay in a silent and dark theatre, it’s time to turn on the lights, turn up the volume, get out those smooth dance moves and celebrate as CLOC finally takes to the stage of the National Theatre St Kilda, May 13 – 28. Evening performances 8.00pm, Matinees 2.00pm. Bookings at cloc.org.au or 1300 362 547.
All performances will be subject to CLOC’s flexible ticketing policy as well as COVID-Safe protocols in collaboration with the National Theatre St Kilda.
