When Packemin Productions bring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to the stage at Riverside Theatres Parramatta in July, another of the large scale pro-am musical productions for which they have built such a name, Scott Irwin makes the rather unusual transformation from Gaston, the role which he played in the professional production here in Sydney, to the Beast.
Beauty and the Beast is a show that holds very dear memories for Scott.
‘Roaring Twenties’ style show tunes, Vaudevillian characters and wry, observational humour will combine this June to create a delightfully funny musical theatre piece in Hills Musical Theatre Company’s The Drowsy Chaperone, bursting on stage at Castle Hill RSL.
Hills MTC, a refreshed Hills Musical Society, will present this show within a show on June 12th – 15th, 2014, replete with big musical numbers, show-stopping leading ladies, tap dancing leading men and, at its heart, a theatre fan with an anxious, sardonic sense of humour.

MLOC’s Thoroughly Modern Millie rehearsals are buzzing with excitement as the June 13, 2014 opening night at Phoenix Theatre, Elwood (Vic) draws near.

It’s been 30 years since Kevin Bacon starred in the hit teen dancing flick Footloose. To celebrate the anniversary, Javeenbah Theatre (Gold Coast, Queensland) will stage the stage musical version this May.
